Photographing Children

I am more than aware of the importance pictures of your children are. Growing up at an alarming rate it doesn’t take long for moments and milestones to pass. So often I hear “I wish I had more photos of them at that age” … well… why wait?

Photos of children don’t have to be the usual studio shots, forced poses and smiles and that look uncomfortable and do nothing to portray their true personalities. I offer studio sittings … with a difference.

Your children feel much more comfortable at home, so why don’t I come to you? I have a lighting setup that allows me to transport and set it up quickly with no mess. The usual sitting time is around an hour, but I set aside two. The setup and breakdown of my lighting takes half an hour of that and the extra half hour is for a cup of coffee and to make sure everyone is relaxed in my company.

Why go for studio pictures at all? Why not sample the natural light route. At home with the soft light of a window or perhaps a trip to the park with the orange glow of the evening sun?  Relaxed and fun is the key, some photos will be gently directed while others totally candid.
